These cheesy garlic pasta balls work perfectly as an appetizer for a party or simply as bread to accompany a spaghetti dinner or even a simple tomato soup.

Similar recipes are made with refrigerated dough, but making dough from scratch is so easy when you use 2 Ingredient Dough.

Two Ingredient Dough Pretzel Bites

This recipe is not for a 2-ingredient dough. Rather, it’s a recipe that uses 2 Ingredient Dough. Check out our 2-ingredient dough recipe for tips and tricks for making and using dough.

Make your own 2-ingredient dough. Mix the Greek yogurt, self-rising flour, garlic powder and salt. Form a ball.

Flour your surface. Place the ball of dough on your surface and cut it into 32 equal pieces. The easiest way to do this: cut the dough in half (making two pieces). Cut those pieces in half (making four pieces), then each in half (making eight pieces), and cut each of those into four pieces.

Cut the cheddar block into 32 cubes. Use the same “math” you used to cut pasta to cut the cheese.

Continue with the rest of the dough. Every time you put a loaf in the pan, bring it closer to the loaf you placed earlier, but do not touch the two loaves.

The balls of dough expand as they cook. So you want them all touching, like monkey bread, when they’re done baking. But you have to give them some room to expand or they’ll turn into a big mess in the oven.

When all 32 dough balls are done, melt the butter. Chop the garlic. Add it to the melted butter. Add a pinch of salt.

Bake for 30-35 minutes until cheesy garlic dough balls are light golden brown and cooked through.

I love the presentation of baking these cheesy garlic dough balls in a round cake pan. The round cake pan and the round dough balls look just great. Plus, the pie pan is a great way to confine the balls of dough during baking so they don’t try to open and flatten as they bake.

If you don’t have a round cake pan, you can bake them in an 8×8-inch square cake pan.

And, if for some strange reason you don’t have any cake pan, you can bake it on a baking sheet or pan. You may end up with more than one freeform shape.

I always have low-fat Greek yogurt in the fridge because I always make this dough. But maybe you don’t buy it regularly.

Cold Appetizer Recipes Your Guests Will Rave About

If you have a prepackaged or refrigerated package of pasta, you can use that to make it. Even if the recipe changes in some way, the concept doesn’t change.

If you have ready-made pizza dough, you can cut it into 32 pieces and continue with this recipe. If you’re using refrigerated dough, which typically comes in eight pieces, you’ll want to cut them in half. They’ll only give you 16 pieces, so you’ll need jars of refrigerated dough to make this complete recipe.

If you’re making these for a party, you might want to make them ahead of time. All right. You can make balls of dough, then put them all in the pan. Wrap the pan in cling film and refrigerate until ready to cook.

You could probably get away with storing them overnight in the refrigerator, but I wouldn’t keep them any longer.

If you have leftover cheesy garlic dough balls, you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

These are really delicious cold. But if you want to warm them up, you can do it in two ways.

The easiest way is to reheat them in the air fryer. Heat them up on 380 for three to four minutes.

If you’re short on time, you can microwave these too, but they don’t heat up as well in the microwave.

Two-ingredient dough is a very popular Weight Watchers recipe. Nonfat Greek yogurt is zero points on Weight Watchers, so the entire batch of 2 Ingredient Dough is only 12 points.

But let’s see. The dough is 12 points WW Freestyle. Butter is 10 points (ouch!). And 4 ounces of cheese is 16 points. So, that’s a lot. That’s 38 points total, which is more than you should eat in a day.

But you’re not going to sit down and eat these garlicky cheesy patties as a meal. You will have a couple of them as a snack. So let’s be realistic. A full lot is 38 points, making each one just under 1.2 points each.

Which means nothing really because Weight Watchers doesn’t do partial points. So to get to a whole number, or as close as possible, that’s 4.75 points times four. So we can call it 5 points by 4. And honestly, it’s not that bad.
