Ingredients
- 500 grams of white tofu
- 2 boiled salted eggs, halved
- 1 bunch of basil leaves
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp mushroom stock
- banana leaves and sticks for wrapping
Ground spices
- 5 red onions
- 1 clove of garlic
- 2 red chilies
- 4 bird’s eye chilies
- 1/2 knuckle galangal
- 1 candlenut
- 1 knuckle turmeric
- 1/2 tsp ground pepper
How to make
1. Mash the tofu. Mix with ground spices, salt, sugar, and mushroom broth. Stir well.
2. Add basil leaves. Stir well.
3. Prepare banana leaves that have been dried in the sun.
4. Wrap 2 tablespoons of tofu dough in banana leaves, add salted egg, fold banana leaves, trim with a stick. Do it until all the ingredients run out.
5. Heat the steamer.
6. Steam the pepes for about 30 minutes until cooked. Lift and serve.
