5 Steamed Bakpao Recipes Perfect for Coffee Friends

Main Ingredients

  • 140 ml of warm water
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp instant yeast

Dough Material

  • 250 grams of wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pandan paste

Stuffing Ingredients

  • 100 grams of peeled green beans, soak 8 hours
  • 1 pandan leaf, tie a knot
  • 4 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 200 ml thick coconut milk
  • pinch of salt
  • a pinch of vanilla powder

How to make

1. Dissolve sugar in warm water. Add yeast. Stir well. Let the starter ingredients boil for about 10 minutes.

2. Mix flour and baking powder. Pour the starter ingredients into the dough while kneading.

3. Add salt, oil and pandan paste to the dough. Knead until all the ingredients are evenly mixed.

4. Divide the dough into 8. Shape round.

5. Leave the dough for 30 minutes.

6. To make the filling, steam green beans and pandan for 15 minutes. Then, mash it. Then mix the finely ground green beans with sugar, salt, vanilla and coconut milk. Cook over low heat while continuing to stir until smooth. Turn off the heat, let the dough cool. Then round shape.

7. Shape the bun dough into rounds, fill with green beans. Do it until all the dough ingredients run out.

8. Heat the steamer. Steam the buns for about 20 minutes until tender and cooked.
