Asian food is one of my favorite things to make in the kitchen. When I first started cooking and making recipes, I was always shy about eating good Asian food. Authentic Thai Noodle Recipes
This recipe calls for ingredients that are good investments for your pantry if you don’t already have them. Sesame oil is infused with a nutty flavor that makes it last longer. Just 2 spoons and your taste buds will be delivered to your favorite Asian restaurant. It gives this dish an unbeatable flavor when combined with freshly minced garlic, soy sauce, honey and red pepper flakes for a slight kick in the heat.
Easy Thai Noodles
Versatile dinners like Easy Thai Noodles are the best kind. I like to say ‘Seller’s Choice’ for this dish. My family loves chicken with their noodles, and I’m happy to serve them because I do too! If I’m short on time of cooking chicken when I get home, I will stop by the store to pick up a rotisserie chicken to cut up and add to the dish. For my vegetarian friends, all you need to do is follow the recipe for a veggie and vegan dinner. For meat lovers, try sautéing shrimp or beef to add variety.
Another reason I love making this dish is that you can use any type of pasta you have in your pantry. I recommend using linguini pasta or Pad Thai rice noodles, but there have been a few nights where all I had in my cupboard was spaghetti noodles and my kids are cleaning their plates! If you have someone in the family who is gluten intolerant, try substituting noodles with a gluten-free version.

球家红 or drunken noodles are fried noodles with holy basil and lots of chilies. It is a very popular Thai street food. The combination of fresh rice noodles, sweet and savory sauce and the aroma of basil… there is nothing like it and it never gets old.

In this recipe I share 7 secrets to make the perfect pad kee mao, authentic, guaranteed to do more than extract; and once the setup is complete it takes 3 minutes to do each part. You can see a video on the recipe card where I show the cooking in real time!
Here are all the ingredients for drunken noodles. You can change the vegetables and I like to use Chinese carrot and broccoli, although usually baby corn, long beans and grass mushrooms are added.
Pad kee mao uses a lot of chilies, so the flavor of the chili, not just the heat, is part of the flavor profile. If we only used hot Thai chilies, we could add a few before it gets too spicy, and there isn’t enough chili flavor. So we also use mild chilies to add chili flavor without the heat.
Or chilies are used, but any mild red pepper such as anaheim peppers or red pepper will work in a pinch.

Thai Noodle Soup (easy Authentic Flavours)
Yes! Anything works, or even skipping protein altogether. However, if I used chicken, pork or beef, I would cook it according to the directions on the recipe card. That simple marinade makes the meat incredibly tender with plenty of water absorbed into the meat.
You can use vegetable sauce instead of oyster sauce, and use soy sauce instead of fish. You can also make a simplified version and use two parts soy sauce to one part Golden Mountain Seasoning Sauce.
What ever! This sauce is basically my Universal Stir-Fry Sauce and it’s good for any stir-fry, fried rice, as a marinade, or another fried noodle dish.

Classic Pad Thai
1. Fresh wide rice noodles can be purchased at some Asian grocery stores in the refrigerated section. Dry rice noodles can be used, although the results are not as good. You will need 6oz of dry noodles; and they need to be soaked, cooked and rinsed in cold water before use.
2. If you are using chicken, pork or beef, cut it thinly and marinate it in 2 tsp soy sauce, ¼ tsp sugar and 1 Tbsp water for at least 15 minutes.
3. Thinly slice the stems and trim the leaves. Keep the leaves and stems separate.
4. Thai black soy sauce or Chinese dark soy sauce can be added to darken the color if you like, however I don’t think it’s necessary and I decided to lighten this new version . If you use Chinese dark soy sauce, reduce the amount of soy slightly as it is very salty, but Thai black sauce is not very salty.
