Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly spray a 2-quart baking dish with cooking spray. Add the broccoli florets to a steaming basket and place over a pot of boiling water.

Cover and steam until tender, then transfer the broccoli to the prepared casserole. Meanwhile, heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until translucent, 3 to 4 minutes. Add the garlic, mushrooms and smoked paprika and continue cooking, stirring occasionally for 5-6 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the milk, cornstarch, salt, and pepper, until just beginning to thicken, 2 to 3 minutes. Transfer the mushroom and onion mixture to the saucepan and pour over the milk sauce.

Wipe skillet clean with paper towel and lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray. Stir in the breadcrumbs over medium heat, until golden, then sprinkle over the saucepan. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes. Enjoy!
