Sift Edmonds Standard Grade Flour, cocoa and Edmonds Baking Powder into a large bowl. Mix with White Sugar. Set aside. Melt the Tararua Butter and Golden Syrup together. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, Meadow Fresh Original Milk, Edmonds Baking Soda and vanilla.

Divide evenly between the prepared tins and bake for 40 to 50 minutes, until a skewer inserted in the middle comes out clean. Cool in the tins for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Beat the Tararua Butter with an electric mixer until pale. Sift in the Icing Sugar and cocoa powder. Add the Meadow Fresh Original Milk and vanilla essence and slowly beat until combined. Increase the speed and beat for a few minutes until smooth and creamy.

Trim and level the top of each cake, then cut each cake in half horizontally into 4 layers. Place the first log on a board or plate. Spread the buttercream icing evenly over the bottom layer and place the second layer on top. Repeat with the third. Place the fourth and final layer of the cake on top, so that the bottom of the cake pan is on top of the cake.

Cover the top and sides of the cake with a thin layer of buttercream icing. Place in the fridge to chill for 30 minutes, then spread with the second layer of buttercream. Decorate as you like.

I’ve had several requests to make this Banana Chocolate Chip cake a healthy alternative to a baby’s first birthday smash cake. So, if you are looking to make a healthy cake for the first day of the birth of a child or to make your children happy – this is the way to make it! We made this cake for my grandson’s first birthday – kids and adults alike went crazy over it!

The ingredients in this Healthy Banana Cake are generally gluten free, but be sure to check all your ingredient labels to make sure they are not made in a gluten-free environment.

Yes, this cake is healthy, but it is no more difficult to make than any other cake. In fact, I think it’s really easy! No mixing bowls or spoons are needed.

We make the whole batter in the blender in different stages. Stop the blender and scrape down the sides often (or as needed) to make sure all the ingredients are mixing and combining well.

Strawberry Cake Recipe

When the batter is well mixed and smooth, transfer it to the baking pan and prepare. While it’s baking, you can whip together the frosting and frost the cake once it’s completely cooled.

This recipe is quick and easy to make, but you need a good, powerful blender (think Blendtec® or Vitamix®) to grind the almonds and oats into a smooth batter.

They have refined sugars and milk. If you’re not on a diet, the cream cheese frosting is such a delicious pairing. But, if you do, leave it out or try another nutritious ice cream.

Alternatively, leave out the frosting and dust the top with a light dusting of powdered sugar or a slather of fine toasted almonds. (This almond butter frosting is delicious!)

Classic Chelsea Buns Recipe

If you decide to prepare the frosting of this cake, we want to throw the frosting with a few chopped almonds (left over from the cake). We also like to press one banana chip into each slice for a nice finishing touch- and so guests know it’s a banana cake. I personally like to top each piece of cake with Bare® baked banana chips. These banana chips are just one thing – bananas (no added fat or sweeteners). (Not supported).

Second: Oats: While it makes sense that any oats will work since they’re still being mixed, it’s important to use plain old to make sure you get the right measurement. Both quick and steel-cut oats are smaller, denser, and more compact so the scale would be removed and the cake would end up being too dry.
