I wanted to go for a lighter, fluffier cake rather than the horrendous typical Christmas cake. I love the flavor of nutmeg and cloves in this cake, plus its simplicity. Everyone who tried my fruit cake really liked it, so let’s see how to make it.

You can use gluten-free flour in a 1:1 ratio and then add 1 teaspoon of your thickener for every 1 cup of gluten-free flour.
There are different ways you can serve this fruit cake. I mean, you really can eat it any time of the day! Here are some ideas:

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the white cake mix, vanilla yogurt, water, egg whites, and vegetable oil until moistened, about 30 seconds.
Then turn on the mixer on medium speed and beat for two minutes. The batter will be thick.

Divide the batter between three bowls, about three cups of batter per bowl. Then color one bowl of cake batter green, another bowl red and leave the third bowl white.
Prepare three 9-inch cake pans. Spray pans with cooking spray, line bottoms with circles of parchment paper, spray again with cooking spray and then dust with flour. Divide the cake batter into the prepared pans.
Yes, you can use this Christmas cake recipe to make Christmas cupcakes. Fill lined cupcake pans 1/2 full with batter. Bake the cupcakes at 350˚F for 19-22 minutes.
Bake the cakes at 325˚F for 35-40 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool in the tins for 30 minutes. Then remove the cakes from the tins, peel off the circles of parchment and cool completely on wire racks.
White Chocolate Christmas Torte Recipe: How To Make It
After the cake layers have cooled, use a long, serrated knife or cake leveler (this is the one I use) to trim off the rounded tops. Save the marshmallows and set them aside for later.
Place the red top on a round cardboard cake or directly on a cake stand. Then place it on a cake decorating turntable (this is what I use).
Add about a cup of frosting to the red layer of the cake and spread it into an even layer.
Use the tip of an icing spatula to give the icing a ruffled look. Hold the frosting tip over the top of the frosting and roll the cake slowly to make curls.

Sprinkle the red and green cake crumbs over the cake for sprinkles. I didn’t include the white crumbs for the cake since the frosting is white.
We chose to use cake crumbs as sprinkles because they are convenient, look pretty, and give an idea of what the side of the cake looks like. You can skip adding decorations and the top of the cake will be a beautiful frosting. Otherwise, try using Christmas sprinkles.
When you cut into the Christmas cake, you can see all the beautiful layers! The light, airy frosting and moist layers of the cake are fantastic.

Simple Christmas Cake is a white velvety buttermilk cake covered in a delightful cream cheese frosting, then topped with fresh rosemary and cranberries. Perfect for your holiday dessert table!
The holidays can be a stressful time, but I decided to try to have a simple Christmas this year. I will do my best not to stress because after all, Christmas is the time of year when we celebrate the birth of Jesus. And that’s what I want to focus on. The opposite of bold is desserts (actually bold spelled backwards) and you all know I love to bake. I wanted to create a no-fuss cake for the holidays and this simple Christmas cake is just that.
Jamaican Christmas Cake
In the spirit of simplicity, I kind of threw this together with the ingredients I had on hand. I wanted to make my grandmother’s favorite 1-2-3-4 cake, but I didn’t have the milk needed for her recipe. I recently made a red velvet cake so buttermilk was the only thing I had in the fridge. I also substituted all-purpose flour for cake flour. The result, perfection!
This is a “simple” Christmas cake because no fancy decorations are needed. I just frosted the cake the rustic way with a luscious cream cheese frosting (in other words, just spread it in a kind of messy way), then added some fresh rosemary and cranberries as a festive garnish.
White Velvet Buttermilk Cake is basically red velvet without the red. It’s a buttermilk cake base that results in a moist cake similar to a pound cake in texture. If you leave out all the color and cocoa powder, you have a nice white velvet cake. Buttermilk gives this Southern-inspired cake a rich and velvety crumb.
The traditional red velvet cake is made with a little cocoa powder. Some people say red velvet is actually chocolate cake, while others say it’s just white cake with red food coloring added. Both are wrong. The cocoa powder adds flavor to the cake, but not enough to call it chocolaty, so when you leave it out, it doesn’t affect the taste that much. (Scroll to the bottom of this post for the full recipe.)
Black Walnut Cake
Good to the last bite! The cake itself is dense but has a velvety texture. Buttermilk and vanilla go well together for a satisfying flavor that pairs perfectly with the cream cheese buttercream frosting.
