German Appetizer Recipes

German Appetizer Recipes – Inspired by the upcoming Superbowl, here’s a German-approved knockout slider recipe: adding bratwurst, sauerkraut and pickles to a ham and cheese slider!

In the past, the Super Bowl has always been about the food for me (okay, I think some of the ads are funny and the halftime show is generally pretty entertaining), but recently the Chiefs have started playing really well. Now finished in the Super Bowl for the second year in a row! Now we have to focus on the game 😉 Go heads!

But back to the food because it’s obviously still a very important part of a good Super Bowl collection. At the last Chiefs game, I got to devour the classic version of this Ham and Cheese Baked Slider recipe, which is actually just ham and melted cheese piled between halved soft, Hawaiian rolls. And then you get that oozy, buttery topping, which is what I fell in love with.

German Style Ham & Cheese Sliders

That night, an idea for a German-style ham and cheese slider was born in my head. What if I added some crumbled, browned bratwurst, standard ‘Swiss’ cheese for a Gouda-Gruyere blend, Dijon mustard for a German-style mustard, some sauerkraut and finally some pickles? Does it feel more German? Will it satisfy my readers’ desires? I would say yes! After making them, tasting them, and going back to taste them again (I had to confirm?), I can definitely say that these will be a huge hit at your Super Bowl watch party (2 or however many you have). !

So go ahead and make a batch of these. Make a team of tasters now if you want and another one for Sunday’s game. 😉 I don’t blame you. If you’re in Germany, you can get Hawaiian rolls for Brioche or Milchbrötchen and enjoy them! Finally, don’t forget to make a Cherry Cosmos team of bosses and get them ready to rock for the game!

The Chiefs playing in the Super Bowl inspired this super delicious red drink with a gold rim! However, if Cosmo were German, he would dress up as this version of Kirsch. I use tart cherry juice instead of cranberry juice and quick, homemade lemon and rosemary syrup instead of orange liqueur. Finally, it’s shaken to perfection with smooth, elegant, Siberian vodka by Mamont.

Make a lemon rosemary simple syrup by mixing 5 oz (150 ml) filtered water with 1.5 c (300 g) sugar and bring to a gentle boil. Add rosemary sprigs and 1 long lemon peel (try to remove as much pith as possible to avoid bitterness). Beat vigorously for 3 minutes or until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool.

These are made in large batches ahead of time. I usually make 10 and fill them into a reusable liter bottle. To find where Mamont Vodka is available in your area, fill out the short product search form.
