Hi! I’m back with a recipe for Tiktok Ramen. I’m pretty sure I’m addicted to Tiktok and all the viral food hacks they have – I’m LOVED. This tiktok ramen was too easy not to try. Plus, I had all the ingredients in the pantry, so it was a quick and satisfying lunch. It was delicious!

Tiktok Ramen is sassy, slightly sweet, full of umami and really good. The flavors kind of remind me of an extra-garlic version of one of my all-time favorite instant noodles: Indomie Mi Goreng, a twist on Indonesian stir-fried noodles.

I feel like everyone has their own favorite way to make instant ramen. To be honest I think instant ramen is one of the greatest inventions out there! The person who invented it, Momofuku Ando, a Taiwanese-Japanese inventor, has a quote I love:
I’m definitely a noodle creature and all I want to do is eat noodles and live that noodle life.
Tiktok Ramen is where you use instant ramen noodles, ditch the spice packet and make your own sauce. Unlike soupy ramen, tiktok ramen is soupless ramen, similar to mazemen or sesame noodles. Ramen noodles are tossed in a garlic butter and soy brown sugar sauce, boiled with an egg and topped with a sprinkling of bagel spice.
In a word: YES! Tiktok Ramen is sweet and savory with added richness from butter and egg and just a hint of spice. Super addicting.

Instant Ramen – Choose your favorite brand of instant ramen. Flavor doesn’t matter since you won’t be using the spice pack. Our favorite noodles are nong shim shin ramyun because the noodles are so thick.
All bagel spice is LIFE. If you think about it, all bagel seasoning is essentially furikake, which is a Japanese rice seasoning. Furikake is a condiment made from roasted sesame seeds and seaweed and is eaten on top of rice and noodles. In Japan there are even furikake chips. It makes sense that Tiktok ramen would all use bagel spices to dress up ramen, after all they have sesame seeds in common.
Our favorite brand of ramen is Nongshim, a Korean brand. They are incredibly popular both in Korea and around the world. There is actually a Nongshim noodle factory in LA and we visited it once. It was wonderful! The chewy and thickness of the nongshim noodles are just perfect. We usually buy either Shin Ramyun or Shin Black. Both have amazing texture.

This Laksa Instant Ramen is our new favorite way to upgrade instant noodles – college dorm/emergency food favorite.
All you need is coconut milk, laksa paste, and just a few other ingredients for this quick, laksa-fied, instant ramen noodle soup.
We grew up eating Maruchan Instant Ramen. When my mom and her family first came to America, instant noodles were a quick, affordable meal. Sometimes it was made more substantial with a cracked egg or some veggies on the side.
Things To Add To A Bowl Of Instant Ramen
It was also the first thing my sister and I learned to cook for ourselves. To prepare a tasty snack, all we had to do was boil some water. (And never leave the stove while it’s on, as our mother must have warned us.)
Our favorite flavors were chicken or beef. We carefully moved our bowls from the kitchen to the playroom, knelt in front of the coffee table with chopsticks and spoons, and slurped our noodles while watching episodes of
I loved searing my pasta (which I still do to this day), but my cousins and sister dropped ice cubes in theirs to cool before digging right in.
Since then we’ve gotten creative with many packs of instant ramen, especially when we’re camping, which has spawned ideas like pho ramen and campfire curry ramen. To this day, I still can’t go on a camping trip without a few packs of instant noodles in tow.
Are Maruchan Ramen Noodles Gluten Free
Laksa is a spicy Southeast Asian noodle soup based on coconut milk and broth. You can find it in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia in different forms.
It mainly consists of a flavorful soup with shrimp paste, broth and coconut milk, noodles (different types depending on where you get them) and toppings like shrimp, chicken and vegetables.
We have a traditional laksa recipe and I love it, but admittedly it’s a small project. It takes a little over an hour in the kitchen.
It takes about 10 minutes to prep (as long as it takes to boil water), making it quick enough for a weekday lunch or quick dinner.

A few Asia-based brands make laksa-flavored instant noodles, but they’re hard to find and can get quite expensive outside of Asia. I use Maruchan instant noodles with a chicken and shrimp flavor as the base here, a nod to shrimp and chicken in a traditional laksa broth base.
I also add laksa paste – my main ingredient for both this instant version and my traditional laksa. You can find it in well-stocked Asian stores.
Place a medium saucepan (2 qt.) over medium-high heat. Add the laksa paste and brown sugar and cook, stirring frequently, for 1 minute.
Divide the noodles and soup between bowls and garnish each with cilantro, spring onions, chili (if using) and a lime wedge. Serve immediately.

Personally, I like to make mine nice and spicy with all sorts of wonderful ingredients that I always have on hand. There are many spicy ramen recipes out there, but most call for a few dashes of sriracha and end the day.
There’s nothing wrong with that, of course, but if you’re a true spicy food lover like me, you’ll want a little more.
