Spicy Chili Oil Noodles are noodles tossed in a spicy homemade chili oil sauce. The sauce is prepared directly in the pan in just 5 minutes, and the noodles are then tossed in the spicy oil sauce. The result is a light, spicy sauce that coats the noodles evenly and is absolutely delicious!
This is one of those lazy recipes that requires minimal effort but provides maximum return! This has quickly become a recipe I add to my weekly meal rotation (along with this tofu stir fry) because it’s so damn delicious and easy. Plus, it can be made with any kind of noodles you have on hand (even plain spaghetti or a box of macaroni noodles you have in your pantry.) I mean seriously, it will be delicious no matter what kind of noodles you use!
These Spicy Chili Oil Noodles will work with just about any type of noodle you have on hand, even plain spaghetti or your favorite pasta. If you want these noodles to be exceptionally good, there are three types of noodles that have worked best for me for this recipe:
Easy 15 Minute Black Bean Chili Oil Noodles
Tip: If your stove is hot or you’re not sure if it’s too hot, you can take the pan off the heat and then add the chili flakes and stir.
2. Reduce the heat to low in the pan, then add the tamari, coconut sugar and rice vinegar and stir. Cook the noodles according to the instructions on the package and drain. I prefer to cook the noodles while making the sauce so that everything is done at the same time.
3. Add the noodles to the pan and toss until the noodles are evenly coated. Taste and re-season if necessary.
4. Serve the spicy nodules immediately while they are still hot. You can optionally top them with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, or make them with any of the toppings or mix-ins suggested in the section below!
Easy Vegan Chili Oil Noodles
There are many ways you can modify this recipe! Try stir-frying and adding some of your favorite protein or veggies to make it a heartier meal. Here are some plugin suggestions to get you started.
Store leftovers for these spicy chili oil noodles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
To reheat the noodles, add them to a pan with a little oil on the stove and cook over medium heat until heated through. You can also heat these noodles in a bowl in the microwave until warm.

Spicy Szechuan Noodles With Garlic Chili Oil
If you don’t like your food too spicy, start with 1/2 tablespoon of chili flakes. Finally, you can sprinkle a little more chili on the noodles or add some sriracha if you want more spice.
Fry the chili flakes in oil over medium heat. If you have a high temperature, you will probably burn the chili flakes. If your stove gets hot, you can even turn the heat down to minimum.

Easy Garlic Chili Oil Noodles (10 Minute Meal!)
These Szechuan Noodles with Garlic Chili Oil pack a huge punch and are ready in just 10 minutes! The wide Chinese noodles are tossed in a spicy chili oil sauce made from garlic, Szechuan chili peppers, ginger, soy sauce, and vinegar.
This dish was inspired by the Spicy Garlic Chili Oil Noodles at a local restaurant. It is versatile and can be customized by adding chicken, beef, shrimp and pork. Or add veggies and tofu to keep it vegan.
For extra flavor, add a spicy chili oil seasoning called Lao Gan Ma. It’s a favorite in our household!
You can use any type of flat, wide noodles, but I prefer wheat noodles for this dish because they hold up best in the sauce because they have a thicker texture than rice noodles. You can even use flat pasta if you’re really in a pinch.
Minutes Spicy Sesame Noodles Ft. The Best Chili Oil
I found these dried flat noodles at my local Asian grocery store, but I’ve also seen Asian noodles at my local grocery store in the Asian aisle.
The name of these wide ribbon noodles is 刀削面 Dao Xiao Mian, which translates to knife-shaved noodles, and they originate from Shanxi province. Traditionally, they are prepared by shaving long noodles from a block of dough directly into a pot of boiling water using a sharp knife or special tool. They should be thin on the edges and thicker in the middle.
You can serve these warm or cold. Either way, they taste amazing. Rinse the cold noodles under cold water and let them drain.
Store leftover oil in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. If you want it to last longer, sterilize the jar and store in the refrigerator to prevent bacteria growth. The oil solidifies in the refrigerator, but melts at room temperature.
