After grinding, strain the makhani gravy using a strainer before adding the paneer. This step makes for a smooth gravy recipe.

Do not add too much water while grinding the masala, as the buttery paneer masala has a rich and luscious gravy.

If the makhani gravy is too thick, add ¼ cup of milk or cashew milk to get the desired consistency.

Instead of sugar, you can use ¼ cup of tomato paste or sauce. These days, no garlic, tomato sauce, or ketchup is readily available in supermarkets.
