Soak the paneer in boiling water for 5 to 10 minutes. This process makes the paneer soft and melt in the mouth.
Use ripe red tomatoes in the gravy. These tomatoes will give color to the gravy.

After grinding, strain the makhani gravy using a strainer before adding the paneer. This step makes for a smooth gravy recipe.
Do not add too much water while grinding the masala, as the buttery paneer masala has a rich and luscious gravy.
If the makhani gravy is too thick, add ¼ cup of milk or cashew milk to get the desired consistency.
Instead of sugar, you can use ¼ cup of tomato paste or sauce. These days, no garlic, tomato sauce, or ketchup is readily available in supermarkets.

I highly recommend using Kashmiri red chilies, they are mild in taste, and secondly, they give a bright color to the gravy.
