Sundanese Serundeng Gepuk Recipe – Food

1. Slice the beef against the grain with a size of about 5 x 5 cm with a thickness of about 1 cm.

2. In a pan, mix the meat with the ground spices, bay leaves, lime leaves, lemongrass, tamarind, and coconut water. Cook over high heat until it boils.

3. After boiling, reduce the heat of the stove.

4. Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, and salt. Cook until the water is reduced. Turn off the fire.

5. Remove the meat from the pan, then geprek. Fry the meat in a little oil over low heat. Remove and set aside.

6. Put the grated coconut and lemongrass slices into the pan. Stir in the remaining spices. Cook over low heat. Add some oil. Cook over low heat until the serundeng is dry.

7. Add sugar and salt to the serundeng. Stir well.

8. Mix the meat with serundeng. Stir well.

9. Serve with fried shallots.
