Launching Allkpop, banana-flavored milk has been produced in South Korea starting in 1974. Banana milk was first produced by a company called Binggrae which is famous for its snack, dairy and fermented products.
Initially, the Binggrae company produced banana milk due to the malnutrition problem that hit South Korea after the war. At that time, the South Korean government also encouraged its citizens to drink lots of milk.
When it was first launched, banana milk was immediately loved by South Koreans. Given that bananas are very rare and expensive in South Korea due to import restrictions.
