Vegan Recipes Jackfruit – When we were still Midwesterners, I had the opportunity to eat at FuD a few times and was most drawn to their faux meat dishes using jackfruit.
I had seen jackfruit in Asian stores before and was intimidated by the look. However, I had no idea that its texture was apt to mock meat and soak up just about any flavor you throw at it.
Vegan Recipes Jackfruit
The only ingredient this recipe calls for that probably isn’t around your pantry is green jackfruit, which can be found at just about any Asian market and on Amazon.
Vegan Jackfruit Salad Sandwich • It Doesn’t Taste Like Chicken
NOTE: Just make sure it’s young green fruit in water, not brine syrup and definitely not ripe fruit. This is the key to achieving the right taste and texture.
BBQ jackfruit in just 30 minutes that will fool any carnivore into thinking they’re eating pork. This content is legitimate.
To add more flavor and texture to the mix, I add a quick avocado veggie salad that’s easy to prepare while the fruit is simmering.
And for even healthier fats and a little protein, roasted salted cashews – because who doesn’t want a huge handful of cashews in everything they’re eating? (Sh, Rhonda – just covering.)
Raw Jackfruit Curry [vegan]
Even a novice can make this sandwich. All that’s left to do is sit back and watch your friends marvel at what they’re eating. I will never despise the jackfruit again.
If you try this sandwich, let us know! Take a photo and tag it # on Instagram! We’d love to see what you come up with. Cheers!
Easy, 30 minute BBQ jackfruit sandwiches that will fool any meat lover! Crunchy, cool avocado salsa and toasted salted cashews add even more texture and flavor. The perfect vegan substitute for pulled pork.
*If you cannot find young fruit in water, we recommend using young fruit in salt water and rinsing thoroughly. *To roast your own cashews: Toss 1/2 cup cashews in a little oil and sea salt and spread on a baking sheet. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10-12 minutes, or until toasted, fragrant and slightly golden brown. *Nutrition information is gross food calculated with avocado slaw and roasted cashews and without cup. *Loosely adapted from Blissful Basil.

It’s easy to make, only takes 20 minutes and only requires 4 ingredients. So delicious with rice and Korean side dishes.
I LOVE Korean cuisine. Everything has so much flavor with the perfect balance of spice, flavor and sweetness. One of my favorite things growing up was Korean BBQ Beef Bowls made with Korean BBQ Sauce. I wanted it so badly and one day it hit me how easily I can make it vegan! Since then it has become one of my favorite meals.
The best thing about this dish (other than it tastes soooo good) is that you only need 4 ingredients to make a real Korean BBQ Pulled Jackfruit!
If you can’t get soy curls, you can get more jackfruit or even tofu! If you can’t find jackfruit, you can still make this dish with soy curls or tofu, just reduce the amount of sauce.
Plant Based Jackfruit Chili Recipe (instant Pot Or Stove Top)
This is my go-to food when I just want something quick and easy. Sometimes I will prepare it ahead of time because it keeps well in the fridge for a few days too!
I LOVE eating it with rice, it goes so well against the super flavorful Korean BBQ Pulled Jackfruit. And if you can get your hands on Korean side dishes, I highly recommend it! If not, some fried vegetables will do, the sauce honestly makes everything tasty anyway ☺️.
I’ve been craving ALL Korean food lately so maybe there will be more Korean recipes here on the blog, stay tuned!

If you don’t know jackfruit, you soon will. It’s a sustainable vegan meat substitute, and it’s set to be one of the biggest food trends of 2017. Although it’s a fruit, its consistency is similar to chicken or pork. It has a fairly neutral flavor when young, so it takes on the flavor of whatever sauce or condiment you pair it with. It works especially well with this flavorful BBQ sauce. True story: I served this to my 5 year old meat loving son and he gobbled it down without asking what kind of meat it was.
In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the shallots and fry for 3 minutes until soft.
Vegan Jackfruit Chili Recipe
Reduce heat to low and add ketchup, honey, vinegar, paprika, Worcestershire sauce and chili powder. Stir for 3 minutes until well combined. Add the jackfruit and heat through for 5 minutes.

Eat Better Dinners Fun One Pot Recipes American Easy Fourth of July Healthy Kid Friendly Kosher One Pot Party Quick Super Bowl Vegan Vegetarian Appetizers Greetings from lovely warm and just fall Krakow, guys! Maybe it’s because I was born in October, but I love fall here. This year is unseasonably warm (thanks folks!!) and dry so I feel like I’m getting another shot at summer too. It is 27°C (80°F) during the day. The evenings are warm and perfect for romantic walks around town, making me wish Duncan was here with me.
On paper at least it should stay beautiful until the end of October before the misery of short days, rain and bitter cold hits. If not for the fact that I miss Duncan and Tina terribly, I might stay a little longer to experience a proper Polish autumn again. I could easily spend the time watching the leaves turn all shades of red and orange, picking chestnuts in the garden and marveling at how much this beautiful city has changed since I left over 15 years ago.
Easy Jackfruit Recipes That Will Impress Vegans And Meat Lovers
Apart from a few trips to the dentist, which I always dread, I’ve been doing really well so far. I caught up with family and friends, ate lots of lovely vegan food cooked for me (my little brother has become a bit of a pizza fanatic recently, which I love) and took a break from cooking itself, which is just what I needed to get creative to flow again. I can already feel new ideas flowing into my head and I look forward to unlocking them when I get back.
In the meantime, here’s a simple midweek dinner idea I cooked for you before I left. It is easy to make, quite simple yet really delicious. It is inspired by Asian flavors, but not authentic in any way. I simply used what I had to hand. Pulled jackfruit tastes even better the day after it’s made, as the resting time gives all the flavors a chance to marry. If you don’t like or can’t find jackfruit, use mushrooms instead. King Oyster mushrooms work best to mimic the texture of pork (as in this recipe), but regular Oyster mushrooms won’t let you down either.

I’ve started mine on an even keel, with everything coming together nicely, only to crash on Thursday and be in a funk on Friday. Nothing major has happened, it’s just that my inner critic, who I’ve been trying to distance myself from for a while now, totally got on my nerves and got me impossibly down.
