My Apple Ricotta Bacon Cake is one of my go-to fall desserts, but can be enjoyed any time of year. I just love warm spices paired with sweet, and what better way to do that than with cake? I know this isn’t a typical cake flavor combination, but hear me out! This cake features layers of olive oil ricotta cake baked in Granny Smith apples. Each cake layer is topped with a sweet ricotta filling and candied bacon sprinkles. The entire cake is then covered in maple butter.

I loved how my family’s eyes lit up when they tasted this cake. First you taste the bacon. Then a second later, you can taste Granny Smith apples, tangy ricotta, and sweet maple butter. All the flavors work so beautifully together. I promise this cake will leave you wanting more with every bite!

My Brown Butter Rice Krispie Cake has a unique cake layer, of course, rice krispie crumbles. While rice krispie treats are a classic treat, I think using them as a cake filling is pretty unique! Rice Krispies are made as you would expect them to be, but the trick is to leave them out long enough to get crispy.

You know I love the texture of my cake, and the crunch of rice krispies in every bite of your cake makes it even better! And brown fat is also a unique rotation. This cake features brown butter cake layers and brown butter frosting. The flavor combination (along with my homemade marshmallow pops) is absolutely amazing!

Best Ever Lemon Poppy Seed Loaf

Another unique cake layer that I love is the Pistachio Cream in my Lemon Pistachio Cake. We can thank mom for this winning cake flavor! She called me and told me that lemon and pistachio gelato taste amazing together and told me I should turn those flavors into a cake – so that’s exactly what I did! There are many different elements that go into this cake, but each of them makes the cake taste amazing!

This is a fun cake for summer! My Orange Almond Orange Cake has almond blue cake layers, orange curd and almond butter. Orange and almond flavors are added to the cake. This cake reminds me of my Creamsicle cake, but with an almond flavor. I think once you taste it, you’ll know what a winning combination it is!
