Yeast Cake Recipes – You can’t have chocolate without vanilla. We started the whole process with chocolate chip cookies. The initial results were good and tasty. They were not pleasant and worth pushing. The success of the vanilla cake allowed us to quickly prepare our chocolate version. The chocolate recipe is very similar to the Vanilla Model. Put the flour, cocoa, milk powder, brown sugar, yeast and salt in a large bowl and use a whisk to mix it together. Add eggs, milk, vanilla paste and melted butter to a side bowl and mix together until fully combined. Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and beat until a smooth batter is formed. Transfer the dough to a large bowl with a lid or cover the bowl with plastic wrap. Leave the dough at room temperature. After 4 hours, remove the lid and use a rubber spatula to mix the dough together again. Cover the bowl or container and let it sit in a warm place for 18 hours. The batter will rise and almost double in volume.

Use a rubber spatula to fold/roll the dough over it and pour it into a bundt pan that has been sprayed with pan release or filled with butter. Cover the pan loosely with plastic wrap and let the dough rise for 30 minutes. Discard the plastic wrap and bake the cake for 1 hour and 15-20 minutes, depending on your oven. A cake tester inserted in the center will come out clean and the cake will feel firm to the touch. To be sure, use a thermometer to check the temperature of the cake. It should read between 98-99°C/208-210°F. Place the cake in its pan on the cooling rack. After 15 minutes turn the cake on the rack and remove the pan. Let the cake cool. Slice and devour.

Well, you could say I’m addicted to the Great British Baking Show. The classic French cake is not very sweet but is topped with a lovely Grand Marnier orange syrup. I can’t wait to share everything I learned about this amazing cake with you.

I asked myself this very question when I watched the Great British Baking Show. Today, I am very excited to share with you what I have learned. I love researching new things and a few days ago, I didn’t know this type of cake existed.

So before there was baking soda and baking powder cakes were made with yeast. This was a rising agent for cakes and breads. Since yeast reacts with sugar this yeast cake recipe actually has very little sugar in it.

This Savarin yeast recipe is a sponge cake and has a nice amount. So, in my opinion, it’s a little flakey and depends a lot on the good texture of the bread.

This cake is unique and unforgettable. The alcohol syrup permeates the entire cake and the French Sabayon frosting is the perfect combination. Fresh fruit makes this the perfect cake to entertain family and friends.

To get the syrup, put the sugar in a saucepan, add the lemon juice and 5 ounces of water and bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat, stir in the orange liqueur and leave to cool.

For caramel shards, line a baking tray with silicone or parchment paper. Put the sugar in a saucepan with 4 tablespoons of water and bring to the boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Once all the sugar has dissolved, boil the syrup without stirring until it reaches 170C in a sugar burner (WARNING: boiling sugar is very hot. Handle it carefully). Immediately pour into a lined tray and leave to harden. Remove with a spoon or cut into pieces using a knife.

I did this as Mr Waite is allergic to raw milk and my sabayon recipe cooks better with milk for my husband. This sabayon recipe is life changing and I actually like it better than whip cream.

I’m not sure what should go in the middle of the cake so I put some fresh fruit. Next time I will put sabayon as the cake has very little sugar and goes well with sabayon.

Our bundt pan is a little on the small side so the yeast did its job and the dough sank to the top of the pan. I believe that if we used a regular size pan, a 9-inch pan this would not prevent the batter from spilling.
